USA Contact Point is a Work from home Opportunity that promises it’s employees pay rates of .13 cents per minute to .44 cents per minutes. The way your pay rate is evaluated is based off your retention. Retention is based on the number of active customers you speak with versus how many are active at the end of the call. Your allowed to log in whenever you feel free 24/7 and begin taking calls. However, there is a limited amount of call volume. Your call volume is based on your performance. The better your retention rate, the more calls you will receive. Well they’ll be changing that based on the information provided on their portal as of 12/22/2014 and instead will begin routing calls based on points, rather than retention. There are no up front fees to begin working from home, and all you need is a PC and a noise cancelling headset microphone. Of course have to complete training and training is provided through a link sent to your email after your initial enrollment and consists of multiple modules following a short exam after each module completed. Then there’s a main exam after completion of all the modules. After you have passed this exam, you are Welcomed with another email(s) (Check your spam folders.) This email containing your certification as well as your log in information. There should also be a link that will take you directly to the portal where you can begin taking calls. You will be taken to a check list of Acknowledgements that you will have to check before proceeding in your call taking. The work week runs from Sunday at Midnight 12:00 AM, to Saturday at 11:59 PM. Checks are issued once a week usually on a Thursday or Friday. Please Note: you are not paid an hourly rate, pay is by the minute and only for the time that you are on the phone.
Sounds like a great opportunity… Right? If you could just retain as many customers as possible you’re looking at $26.00 per hour.. which is more than what most of us are earning leaving the comfort of our homes and family everyday. What’s the catch? The rate of pay changes per call… You may have been on the phone for twenty minutes with a caller, who didn’t call to cancel and just may have needed assistance with using the product. You’ve just raked up an impressive $9.00 for that call alone.. But if your next call is of a caller who wishes to cancel regardless of how much of a rebuttal you offer, or of how good of a deal you pitch .. You may have been on that call for 25 minutes but when you cancel their subscription/Services your rate of pay drops. Causing the monies you’ve already earned to decrease. Now you have $5.85 for the near hour you’ve spent on the phone, earning you lower than Florida’s Minimum wage nearing $8, which is where the company is based.
The problem with USA Contact point and its affiliates, users, and agents is: Aside from what you see, and what they say. Those in charge of running the numbers before the end of the work week, typically before payment is posted to the agents account decide to measure quality assurance by going back and monitoring calls, The calls that they wish to rate. You may have earned $300.00 after dedicated 11- 38 hours or nearly 700-2,500 minutes…. That’s a lot of minutes…. in a span of that week.. and they will take it upon themselves to go in and change your pay rate, your minutes on the phone, and retention rate. and decrease your earnings to the lowest possible rate of $0.13 per minute. Before this happens the portal usually runs into some type of technical difficulties and your retention rate changes to 0 or something absurd. Nonetheless, By the end of the week you will find that they have updated your call log/User time log and retention with this rate, and you will find your pay has decreased to an all time low of somewhere around $50.00 ultimately resulting the hourly earning of $5 a less per hour. When you should be earning at least the difference of between $40 with the max of $250.00 for that week. Who can afford to take that kind of a loss?
The Company ends up with substantially more than you stealing your earnings this way.
